The Indian Coast Guard has announced recruitment for Assistant Commandant positions, offering 70 vacancies to eligible candidates. The registration process commenced on February 19, 2024, and will conclude on March 6, 2024. This recruitment drive presents a lucrative opportunity for individuals aspiring to serve in the Indian Coast Guard.

Vacancy Details:

General Duty (GD): 50 posts

Tech (Engg/ Elect): 20 posts

Eligibility Criteria:

1. General Duty (GD): Applicants must possess a degree from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks.

2. Technical (Mechanical): Candidates should hold an Engineering degree from a recognized university in fields such as Naval Architecture, Mechanical, Marine, Automotive, Mechatronics, among others, with at least 60% aggregate marks.

3. Technical (Electrical/ Electronics): Aspirants must have an Engineering degree from a recognized university in disciplines like Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunication, Instrumentation, among others, with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks.

4. The age limit for all candidates should be between 21 to 25 years as of July 1, 2024.

Selection Process:

The selection of Assistant Commandants follows an all-India order of merit, determined by candidates’ performance in various stages. All applicants will undergo a computer-based online screening test known as CGCAT, consisting of 100 multiple-choice questions. Each correct answer carries four marks, while one mark is deducted for each incorrect response.

Examination Fee:

Candidates are required to pay an application fee of ₹300/- through online mode, using net banking or debit/credit cards. However, candidates belonging to the SC/ST category are exempted from the payment of the fee.
