JKBOSE’s Tagging Process
In a recent development, JKBOSE has initiated the tagging process for students enrolled in defaulting schools. This crucial step aims to secure the academic future of thousands of students by affiliating them with nearby Government institutions.
Background Of Issue
Approximately 4500 students in classes 10th, 11th, and 12th are affected, as over 300 private schools in Jammu and Kashmir have lost affiliation due to non-compliance with renewal conditions. The primary issue revolves around schools situated on Government land failing to fulfill required conditions.
Statutory Order and Conditions
The Statutory Order (S.O.) number 177, dated 15.04.2022, imposes additional conditions for school affiliation, requiring a land title or lease deed certificate. Failure to produce this certificate may lead to de-recognition and management takeover.

Impact on Students
Due to disaffiliation, these schools can’t register students for exams, jeopardizing their academic future. Contrary to some allegations, JKBOSE Chairman, Dr. Prikshit Singh Manhas, assures that every student will be allowed to sit in the examination. Students facing issues due to their institution’s fault are being tagged to the nearest Government schools.
The Tagging Process
To mitigate the impact on students, JKBOSE is directing defaulting schools not to admit students from class 9th onwards until affiliation extension is granted. This proactive measure aims to address the issue promptly.
