Maulana Azad Scholarship 2023

Studies have become increasingly costly, making it challenging for economically weaker students to continue their education. To address this, Maulana Azad Education Foundation introduced the Maulana Azad Scholarship in 2002, aimed at providing financial assistance to students facing economic barriers.

Types of Scholarships under Maulana Azad Education Foundation:

1. Begum Hazrat Mahal Scholarship:

•  Exclusively for girl students across India.
•  Applicable for students in classes 9th to 12th.
•  Minimum 50% marks in the previous class required.
•  Annual household income should not exceed 2 lakhs.

2. Maulana Azad Fellowship:

•  Open to students pursuing a regular/full-time M.Phil/PH.D. course.
•  Eligible categories: Muslim, Christian, Buddhists, Jain, Parse, SC, ST.
•  Annual family income should not exceed INR 2.5 lakhs.

Eligibility Criteria:

For Begum Hazrat Mahal Scholarship:

• Exclusively for girl students.
• Belong to Muslim, Christian, Buddhists, Jain, Parse.
• Studying in classes 9th to 12th.
• Minimum 50% marks in the previous class.
• Annual household income not exceeding 2 lakhs.
• Not applicable to more than two students from the same family.

For Maulana Azad Fellowship:

• Belong to Muslim, Christian, Buddhists, Jain, Parse, SC, ST.
• Pursuing a regular/full-time M.Phil/PH.D. course.
• Annual family income should not exceed INR 2.5 lakhs.
• Minimum 50% score at the postgraduate level.
• Transgender candidates eligible.
• Reservation as per Government of India norms.

Scholarship Amount:

For Classes 9th and 10th:

INR 5,000 per student for tuition, books, and boarding/lodging.

For Classes 11th and 12th:

INR 6,000 per student for fees, books, and boarding/lodging.

Fellowship Amount:

JRF: Rs. 25,000 per month for the first 2 years, SRF: Rs. 28,000 per month thereafter.
