With the implementation of admission based on merit and choice, students have to travel long distances or reside in hostels or private accommodations, causing severe hardship due to the harsh winter conditions.
Addressing Academic Delivery Despite Adverse Conditions
To ensure uninterrupted academic progress amid extreme cold conditions, the Special Secretary to the government, Dr. Ravi Shanker Sharma, communicated the decision to shift classes to an online mode. This initiative will be effective from December 1, 2023, until December 31, 2023, or until the announcement of winter vacations, whichever occurs earlier.
Implementation Plan for Online Classes
All Principals of Government Degree Colleges in the Kashmir Division have been directed to ensure faculty attendance in colleges and conduct classes online. This step aims to cover the syllabus as per the academic calendar and maintain the continuity of education during this period.
Examinations and Academic Schedule
The official communication also assured students that all internal examinations and semester-end examinations will proceed as per the notified schedule of respective universities or institutions. This ensures the academic rigor and timely progression of educational assessments.
